This year, Tumas Developments once again participated in the long-awaited property expo ‘A Place in the Sun Live’ at the popular venue of Earl’s Court in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London. This highly successful property expo was visited by 6,000 potential buyers, and is branded by A Place in the Sun, the largest and most successful international property show, organised in the UK and whose television programmes are viewed by millions of viewers on Channel 4 in the UK.

To promote the show, A Place in the Sun utilised the power of its worldwide television brand, as well as publicity announcements after all episodes of the show, national and regional press advertising, online marketing, print marketing and a substantial marketing campaign that targetted national, weekly and Sunday newspapers and A Place in the Sun’s own exclusive magazine.The three-day show hosted international property agents, developers and service providers from across the globe, and Tumas Developments were the exclusive Maltese property developers who participated. Tumas Developments promoted their luxury developments here in Malta with the intention of realising the steady growth of the UK market.  Hundreds of thousands of British people visit the Maltese Islands every year, and Malta is a highly popular destination for relocation thanks to its delectable climate and favourable living conditions. Malta is in fact the 10th most popular destination for overseas property buyers, according to a survey conducted by the exhibition’s hosts A Place in the Sun. Tumas Developments aims were to promote a lifestyle of luxury and quality aimed at UK buyers, promoting the Maltese islands’ rich 6,000 year history, tradition and cultures, favourable tax benefits, crime free environment and of course, the lack of language barriers presented to British nationals.

The three-day exhibition coincided beautifully with the marketing campaign focused on Malta conducted by Harrods, the world’s most famous department store. In March 2012 Harrods carried out an extensive campaign promoting Malta as a tourist destination and ideal country for investment. This showcase sought to attract high-end tourists to Malta and was viewed by 1.2 million Harrods shoppers in Brompton Road, London. The extensive campaign transformed all of Harrod’s shop windows and displays into stunning showcases of high resolution images, depicting Malta’s wealth of architecture, history and blue seas, whilst high on the building’s grand facade the Maltese flags waved proudly.

At this exhibition Tumas Developments once again set new standards for property seekers searching for their own place in the sun on our beautiful island. Statistics have shown that 55% of visitors to the exhibition are keen to purchase a property within 12 months, and 85% within another year.

Tumas Developments have participated in this property expo for three years running, and so they had high expectations of the outcome of this year’s exhibition. Once again they were exceeded. Representatives from Tumas Developments were  present throughout the show to answer the visitors’ questions, and a promotional video, posters and brochures were on display throughout, promoting Malta and the Tumas Developments brand. A marketing campaign in Malta was also underway to promote this exhibition.
